Japan Provides Over US $200,000 for Water Supply Project in Siem Reap

PHNOM PENH: A signing ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project was held on Thursday, 12 January 2023, under which the Japanese government will provide more than US $200,000 to Cambodia to implement a project to install a clean water supply system in Kampong Khleang commune in Siem Reap province.

According to the press release issued by the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, the Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, Taninai Ichitomo, and a representative of the recipient institution, Ek Sonn Chan, signed the grant agreement.

Taninai Ichitomo said that the Japanese government has agreed to provide a grant to the small-scale Kusanone Grassroots Human Security Project, with a total budget of more than US $200,000 allocated for the installation of a clean water supply system in Kampong Khleang commune in Siem Reap province.

He believes that the grant will help improve the quality of life of the people living on the project site.
